Part of a verse in the Christmas story that sometimes is overlooked is: “...there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:7 NIV).
I think about that line each year, especially when life feels too busy, too loud, too full. Our schedules fill up, the to-do list grows, and before we know it, we’ve filled every room but forgotten to leave space for the Savior. Jesus didn’t show up in a palace. He came to a messy manger, into the middle of our chaos, not away from it. He didn’t need the perfect setting—He just needed space. And that’s still true today. At this time of year, we try to make everything look and feel perfect. But Jesus isn’t asking for a flawless holiday. He’s just asking for a heart that says, “There’s room for You here.” So maybe it starts with a moment of silence in the middle of the noise. A few minutes of stillness when the world says go faster. A chance to say: “This year, Jesus gets the best room in my heart.
